Mehndi Ornaments

Mehndi has been used in India for over 5,00 years. It was originally used for its natural cooling properties but has since evolved into a decorative art form. Used widely in Indian celebrations, authentic mehndi continues to provide medicinal purposes as women and men adorn it for their big celebrations.

I've recreated mehndi designs using white paint on plastic baubles, which I have painted maroon to mimic the beautiful reddish stain left behind by mehndi. Random pops of pink make these ornaments extra sparkly on a Christmas tree or even as a decorative piece elsewhere in your home! These ornaments can be kept up all-year round and function as a piece of art.
